During the second quarter of 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Kenya showed varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a comprehensive view of these trends.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting strong with approximately 28K downloads in late March but experiencing a dip to around 10.5K by early June. However, it rebounded to 15.8K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 260K throughout the quarter, with a slight peak at 281.4K in late April.

Faras experienced a significant surge in downloads mid-quarter, peaking at over 31K in late April. This was followed by a decrease to about 8K by the end of June. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting from 88.1K in late March and reaching 155.9K by mid-June, before settling at 132.5K at the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady download rate with minor variations, starting at around 9.2K in late March and ending with a slight increase to 13.2K by the end of June. The app's active users also showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 284.1K and gradually increasing to 303.4K by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a more stable download pattern, with weekly downloads ranging between 2.7K and 5.4K. Active users saw a slight decline from 121K in late March to around 105K by the end of June, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had the lowest download figures among the top five, starting at around 2K in late March and experiencing a peak of 3.2K in mid-June. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, averaging around 19K, with a peak of 21.2K in mid-June.
